The Foreign Travel Executive Assistance Plan is designed to assist University employees while traveling in foreign countries on University business and is provided at no cost to the employee or department.  The Ace Executive Travel Assistance Program does not provide supplemental health or medical coverage. If you are a University employee injured while traveling on official University business, you are covered through workers’ compensation.

If you are injured during a personal portion of a trip, your personal health insurance coverage applies. Employees should check with their health insurance carrier for more details regarding personal medical coverage during foreign travel. For Blue Cross participants, please check for information and coverage here at: BlueCard Worldwide Program

Foreign Travel liability coverage for University faculty, staff and student employees is being provided through Ace International Advantage and administered through a policy with the State of Idaho.

This Foreign Travel policy covers employees anywhere in the world, excluding the USA, its territories and possessions, Puerto Rico, and any country or jurisdiction which is subject to trade or economic sanctions imposed by laws and regulations of the USA. For a current list of these jurisdictions or countries, please refer to the U.S. Department of the Treasury (OFAC) www.treas.gov/offices/enforcement/ofac/programs/

Please also check with the Department of State for any travel warnings for the country you are about to visit at: https://travel.state.gov/content/passports/en/alertswarnings.html

Special Notice to Employees Traveling with Family:
Occasionally, family members may choose to accompany a university employee in travel to a foreign destination. Please be advised that your choice to include family members in your travel does not obligate the Boise State University to provide health or accident benefits to those family members. Any costs incurred during the course of your travel by any family member, including minor children or children for whom you are a guardian, are the sole responsibility of you or your family member. Please check with your health insurance provider for details regarding coverage for your family members while traveling outside the United States.
